Chatsworth house, exhibition, garden, farmyard and adventure playground, gift shops and restaurants are open every day until 23 December 2010. Fabulous new displays, restored rooms and the 'Celebrating Deborah Devonshire' exhibition mean more to see than ever before. The 1000 acre park, the farm shop and its restaurant are open all year round.

Chatsworth's tradition of welcoming every visitor warmly continues in 2010, and there is an exciting range of events and entertainment for visitors to enjoy, from firm favourites like the International Horse Trials and the Country Fair, to the expanded Florabundance spring flower festival and the new Textile workshops and outdoor Discovery days.

The Estate has hosted a variety of filming over the last few years, ranging from factual documentaries such as Channel 4's Great Estates and TV dramas such as Jane Eyre (BBC), to feature films, most notably Pride and Prejudice (2005), The Duchess (2008) and The Wolfman (2009).

The Heights of Abraham

The Heights of Abraham is a tourist attraction in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. It consists of a hilltop park on top of Masson Hill, accessed by a cable car from the village below. Amongst the attractions in the park, which has been open since Victorian times, are cavern and mine tours. The cable car was opened in 1984 and was the first alpine cable car in Britain. The route is 568m long and climbs 169m.
